A tight training schedule for the Flames U-17 has been developed to quickly help players regain match fitness before the December 3, 2020 COSAFA Men’s Under-20 Championship kickoff.

The compacted training roster is as a result of the inadequate time the team has to prepare for the tournament.

Fitness of players means the players can do anything on the field of play, Head Coach Dekleck Nsakakuona said in an interview.

The first two days of the Flames U-17 training camp has seen the technical panel working on the team’s coordination and exercise that is expected to last until the final session.

Nsakakuona said: “We will be training three times a day from Monday next week with two training sessions in the morning and one more session in the afternoon.”

The first training session will be kicking off from as early as 5:30 a.m. with the mid-morning practices set to start at 09:30 and the final training session timed at 15:30 p.m.”

Flames U-17 will crash with Zambia, Comoros and Botswana in the pool stages of a battle for the COSAFA Men’s Under-17 Championship scheduled for December 3-13 this year.

At the 2020 COSAFA Men’s Under-17 Championship two teams to will miss out on a place in the semifinals.

The two sides that contest the final of the 2020 competition will earn their place at the continental championships when the CAF Under-17 Cup of Nations is played next year.
