Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) has said the Champion of Thumbs Up league will be known by September end.
Raphael Humba, Chairperson of the committee said they have projected Saturday the 25th September as the day on which the finals will take place. Humba added that the venue is yet to be decided as their association is consulting Sponsors (Rab Processors Company) with an aim of coming up with colourful finals.
Commenting on Ntopwa United’s exit from TNM Superleague and the struggling of Mighty Tigers which are the products of SRFA, Humba said the two teams struggled not that they were technically and tactically poor but rather due to financial crisis.
Humba believes that the Champion which they will produce this coming month end between Nyasa Big Bullets RSV and Sable Farming, will represent them well as they are ready in all areas; Technically, Tactically and Financially.
Sable Farming and Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve will battle it out in the finals after the two beat Changalume Barracks by four goals to nil and Blantyre City by Eight goals to two respectively.
However, Sable Farming is likely to qualify into the TNM Superleague even if they lose the finals against Nyasa Big Bullets if Nyasa Manufacturing Company will also do the same way they did in 2018 season where their reserve side qualified to play in the TNM Superleague but the company admitted they could not manage to Sponsor two teams in the elite league hence Ntopwa United who finished second in the SRFA was promoted.
