The National Football Coaches Association of Malawi says it is planning to have coaching courses for beginners in the country.
Chairperson for the Association Aubrey Nankhuni said this when he was invited to a cup launch in Mulanje district.
Nankhuni says there is a lot of talent in the districts hence the need to have coaches that are well trained to nurture players in those areas.
“What we are doing as National Football Coaches Association is that we are having district elections for district coaches committees and these committees are going to organize clinics.
“We as National Association are going to organize courses for the beginners of the coaches because many of them do not have papers so, this is a step as we go on in the future.” Nankhuni said.
It is expected that 16 teams will take part in the cup organized by members of Pasani area in Mulanje.
One of the organizers Alufeyo Liyaya said this is one of the ways of encouraging young people of the area as they are also implementing different activities including in education.
“What we want is to see a situation where many of these young ones make it to the top. We want to produce stars that can represent this area nationally and this is one of those means.” Liyaya said.
