FAM to confirm Flames COSAFA participation next week

As Mwase recalls Mzamva, drops Khuda and ignores Ng’ambi

Flames Players

A call up for the Malawi National Football team camping ahead of next month’s COSAFA to be hosted by South Africa has been announced.

Out of the 33 member squad, 21 are local based players and 12 foreign are based players.

On and off Flames skipper currently unattached Limbikani Mzava has returned to the squad having missed on the previous call up list.

Missing on the list is Black Leopards ace Robert ‘Baggio’ Ng’ambi whose last Flames call up dates back to 2017 and the controversial Polokwane City goal poacher Khuda Muyaba.

Flames coach, Meck Mwase appears to have maintained almost 100 percent of his previous locally based player’s call-up.

A statement from Football Association of Malawi has been announced ahead of expected assignments during the FIFA window between 5-13 October 2020.

The Flames will be preparing for match Day 3 and 4 of 2022 AFCON Qualifiers against Burkina-Faso in November this year.

The local based players will go in camp on Monday at the Mpira Village in Blantyre.

Meanwhile, FAM says it will next week confirm whether the Flames will participate at the COSAFA Championship or play friendly matches in October.
