APM stadia project excites Wanderers-Bullets

The football fraternity has heaped praise at President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for delivering on his promise to construct the country’s oldest clubs Be Forward Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets stadia.

They were reacting to the commencement of construction works on the two projects following the twin ground breaking ceremonies that took place at Zingwangwa and Soche ground respectively.

Euphoric atmosphere took a toll among Nyasa Big bullets and Be Forward Wanderers supporters as they waited with abated breath for President Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika at the construction sites for the two clubs’ stadia project.

Clad in their traditional Red and White colours, Bullets Supporters sang and danced as players and team officials patiently waited for the arrival of the number one citizen at Zingwangwa football ground, the construction site for the people’s team stadium.

Similar sparkling mood engulfed the Nomads Stadium construction site in Soche as the team’s supporters dressed in their usual Blue and Orange regalia danced and chanted songs in praise of the Malawi leader for this kind incredible and extraordinary present.

And as time struck 1 p.m. President Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika’s convoy arrived at Zingwangwa ground where the contractors briefed the number one citizen on the designs of this magnificent stadium before officially unveiling commencement of the project.

Later, the Malawi leader carried a similar exercise at the construction site for Be Forward Wanderers Stadium in Soche after the contractors appraised him on the project.

In the meantime, Nyambadwe Primary School Ground submerged into a blue and yellow sea loyalists filled the venue to the brim like never before.

Deafening sounds, chants and dances characterized the thunderous welcomed the Malawi leader received as he made his way to the podium.

President Prof. Mutharika then wowed the thrilling crowd after admitting that he could no long bear it seeing these two great teams of all time in the country’s history homeless hence the decision to build them a stadia.

Icing the cake, the number one citizen donated a bus each to the two clubs, sending the entire crowd into wild merriment.

FAM President Walter Nyamilandu who spoke on behalf of the two clubs described President Prof. Mutharika as a true friend not only to the game of football but simply put sports in general.

One of Bullets FC Directors Fleetwood Haiya and Nomads General Secretary Gift Maunde hailed the Malawi leader for honouring his pledge saying the two clubs shall for ever remain indebted to him.

According to the Ministry of Sports, over 3 billion kwacha will be used in the implementation of this project and once completed Bullets and Wanderers stadia will have sitting capacity of 15,000  respectively.
